# of turns on a Greddy Type-s w/stock turbo&boost

I have the greddy type s running one large spring on my evo and i am running stock 19 psi. Right now after first contact with the piston, the screw is adjusted to 3 turns.( in reference to evomoto.com). They said that this is the recommended setup. However, i am letting out boost at low rpms and i am blowing off in every shift........How many turns should i do in order to hold the boost and not blow off in every shift?

ive found using both springs & connecting the Second nipple (anti-surge) with the screw in just enough to center the spring seat works best for me.

keep in mind the EvoMoto car that you read the FAQ on was running cams (mentioned in FAQ if i remember) & would be creating less vacum than a car with stock cams

619,
With the small spring out, you wasted your money. Put it back in. The stock diverter valve will hold boost far better than that Greddy with those settings. It doesn't matter what you set the screw at with one spring out, it barely holds 19lbs. Go back to the stock one until you need to hold bigger boost. The car will drive a little smoother too.

I just got the type-s a few days ago and I'm haveing some of the same problems. I have the spring mod done and no second vac line. I have know problems with it holding boost but it does act a little funny at part throttle. I actually went a little softer and it seemed to help a bit. I'm installing cams today so I hope that the 2-3 turns will work better when there in.

I run the greddy type s with the small spring out....25 pounds of boost to redline on a much larger turbo than stock......

i highly disagree with your statement

I know for a fact my Greddy Type s (RRE kit) with small spring out would only hold 19lbs on my car with the stock turbo, stock piping, stock IC, stock airbox. I slapped the stock DV back on and presto, 23lbs spike settling down to 21 until it tapered to 18 at redline.

Since you have a big turbo, it is conceivable that your BOV is leaking but you are still able to hold 25lbs, even with the leak.
