what is this "flash" , how do you re-flash your ecu? i've heard of this "mail flash" , do you mail your ecu to a tuning place to get it flashed? ?

flash changes values that your ECU reads. You could also get a utec, ems or even a wideband and do your own A/F Tuning. The Flash removes redline, speed governor and a few other things, while keeping your Air Fuel in check with mods you add on. You can mail it in to certain tuners, or you can go to places like, turbo trix, dynoflash, vishnu...etc.

edit

keep in mind if you mail your ecu in...it wont give you the best benefits, since its not being street/dyno tuned...

Exhaust/MBC/SAFC II or flash/intake.

Should net you around a 12.8-12.9

A Vishnu stage 0 should get you into the 12's. Thats a full exhaust and an Xede piggyback computer.

Its a device that you purchase and plug into your ecu. You download maps into the Xede using your computer, that are specific to what kind of mods you have on the car.

Head over to the Vishnu forum in the Vendor Forums on this site.

You can fire away any question you have in there.

Buschur air filter - $70
Used Buschur Turbo-back with test pipe - $500
emanage tuned by me to 11.7:1 a/f ratio (no timing changes) - $550
TurboXS MBC - $100

Total $1220, best time was a 12.94@106 on street tires with an easy 1.8 60' time.

ok i don't know how to tune and wouldn't dare adjusting a/f ratios / timing by myself with an aftermarket box like safc II / xede/ greddy profec / whatever

so what do you think if i got a catback exhaust and then shipped my ecu to vishnu for xede tuning, and then got it back(and i didn't touch xede) , would that yield significant power?
