T-3 Turbo Mod???
T-3 Turbo Mod???
I've got the oppertunity to pick up a free T-3 turbo off of a Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with about 20000 miles on it. Obviously I am going to take it, because its free, and its a turbo
but I'm wondering if its something that would make a difference if I put it on my car, and if its even possible. Flanges and whatnot. If it wouldnt make a noticable difference on my car, I'll sell it to a honda owner, but I'm trying to find out if I should put it on the Evo or not.

Turbo-coupe, mustang SVO, or Merkur XR4ti turbo's are all the same and they are small T-3 trims, smaller than the stock EVO VIII turbo. Sell that turbo, it's a turd.

What trim is this turbo? If it's a super 60 it will spool real quick and give good gains. This is a perfect turbo for smaller displacement engines and cheap too. I'm with AMS though, this turbo will not out flow the factory EVO turbo. I would try to sell this to a VW guy with a 1.8 or a Honda guy.
Actually depending on what year Turbo coupe it is, it could even have the really small IHI unit that spools even quicker and makes less power.....either way those turbo's are old technology that are not very capable.

That is all what I kind of figured, so yea, I'm defianantly going to sell it. Any idea what I should be able to get out of it? I also found the oppertunity to pick up a free Nitrous Oxide Systems bottle and braided line.
