Learning how to spell hollow might help a little...

Anything you do to straighten out the sound might help with the choppiness and vibration. Get a test pipe as suggested before and take out any massive bends or kinks in the pipes.

actually yeah I do think backwards.....thats how we troubleshoot problems on aircraft.....we start at the problem (too loud of a car) and work backwards to fix it.....from the beginning we can replace small parts like others have recommended or at the very end of the process (or the beginning to you because i think backwards) you can just put you stock stuff back on and sell the rest and have the money to spend on something else....problem solved........I think in all reality since your a smart guy you already know the answer to your own question and just wanted to start a new topic to make your car sound all bad@$$.....seriously in all reality your NOT going to get quieter without losing some HP or spool, like I said you SEEM smart enough to grasp that concept....and whats with your infatuation with still calling me dumb??? get a life man.....I can't believe I defend my country which includes people like you....

Why stop with putting everything back to stock? Just sell the car -- guaranteed to solve the problem!

I actually like they way your car sounds.

It is a shame that you have to fix it. I am curious as to what you figure out.

Good luck,

From lookin at the sound vids, I have found a solution:

Don't leave your car running in the garage with the exhaust pointed into the corner of the walls and it won't be as loud or resonate as much.

Your welcome.

Sounds like a modded EVO to me. I guess you'll have to sell your evo and buy a tree hugging hybrid to appease the neighbors.

good luck and J/k

Well personally i dont think it is that loud but im comparing it to my car. But seriously Myhar if you dont like the way it sounds install your cat and it will solve the problem. If it is still too loud then start looking at a different cat back that has more resonators on it.

But hey np about hosting those files hahaha....

Good luck and guys its not that big of a deal but i found it funny that is seems louder when you were at the drivers door then when you were at the exhaust. Have you checked for any exhaust leaks? Make sure the V Band clamps are nice and tight on the downpipe? Just my 0.02

haaaaaaaaaaaa best pic ever. The problem is that the neighbors are giving me the eye. I have no choice besides loosing HP then and maybe putting the stock exhaust back on. It’s loud trust me and its loud in annoying way. I am not trying to make it sound like a bad a$$ because I am really having a problem I am trying to solve (I live in Fairfax city) it’s no joke here. What bugs me the most is that Mustangs and Harleys have loud noise and no one on the streets seems to care and they only care when they see our big wing and mitsu on the back. I will try the test pipe soon if that does not work I have no choice beside the stock exhaust which will kill 20WHP or even more right there.

I have driven my friend's car behind my EVO and you can hear it humming all the way on the highway. No matter what we did its still annoying and started to get to me.

I posted here to get some ideas before I go ahead and maybe screw something wishing that you guys have some ideas (some did) no showing off was intended in anyway. I just wanted a solution or an idea, thats all.

Exactly Chris, I checked all the screws and the V band clamps and I have found no leaks. Tomorrow I am going for a 2nd round and I will check everything again for leaks. I was surprised that its louder from my door comparing to the exhaust outlet. I will let you know.

Thanks
