Installed BOV today, but is there something wrong?

Wats up fella's?

My GREDDY Type-S BOV came in today, so I decided to do the install myself. I took directions from EVOMOTO.com, and also did the single spring mod.

Btw I have factory intake. So after I did the install (everything went smoothly), eveyrthing seemed fine. The whistle wasn't loud, but if you listened for it, you could hear it. So after like 2.5 hours of just driving, I stopped by my friends house to pick up something. He wanted to hear it so I brought him outside to hear the BOV, and well... you couldn't hear it at all. You woulda thought it was the factory plastic bov, NO noise at all. So i'm like hmm... i'll show it to you later.. and then I left to go home. On the way I noticed the sound picked up a bit, but still wasn't as loud as it was when I first installed it. And now when I get home, can't hear it again.

Does anybody know whats the deal? According to the EVOMOTO instructions, I did everything correctly.

Also, is there a way to tune the sound of the BOV? After installing it, i wasn't too satisfied w/the sound, it sounded like a whistle that was being stretched out.

If anyone can shed some light on this, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

well its not going to pop off as the car doesnt build any boost while sitting really. An aftermarket BOV with stock airbox will get a little louder , but to really open it up get an open air filter of some sort.

dont screw with anything, you did everything right, the problem you are running into is the stock box is an excellent silencer, and at idle you wont build up but maybe a pound of boost. Another thing is with the single spring mod the classical greddy bov sound is not as apparent because it operates much more like stock... which is good, TRUST ME!

i put in the hks mega flow intake today and the stock bov is actually pretty loud. if that is the case, then if i were you, i would wait and get an intake filter or something before you tune your bov. i was going to get a bov but my stock one is loud enough for now. after install of hks filter, i noticed that it is significatly louder w/o the air box.

I have the type s and it takes a little bit of adjustment to get it right with the spring mod. I have a great sound and function but it rings/whistles at idle. I'm thinking of adding the other vacuum line and seeing if I can get rid of the ringing at idle.

Unless you have a BOV that is venting to the atmosphere, it won't give you much of a sound difference. An open air filter will do that for you. Once you do that, you can adjust the screw to "tune" the sound, but it's better to only mess w/ that for functional purposes.

So I shouldn't worry about the sound being audible and not being audible from time to time, right?

I mean there's only 3 places where it connects to the car, and they all seem to fit nice n snug.

Thanks guys
