i think people that ACTUALLY use the producst are the only ones that should be allowed to respond to a thread about it.

Anyways I am sure I will have good results.

Do not use the O2 sensor housing and the tubular exhaust manifold. The tubular manifold will be fine if you use the stock O2 housing. There is a support bracket that bolts to the stock O2 housing. This is supporting the weight of the turbo, more than the manifold is. If you use the new O2 housing, you wont be able to use this support bracket and you will have problems sooner of later. The spring bolts on the downpipe need to have good support to work properly and they would add alot of stress to the tubular manifold without the support bracket on the O2 housing.

I have the same manifold that you just bought. I had mine coated, it works and fits nice. There is a thread about this where a lot of people have bought and used it, most are very happy with it. Do a search for ssautochrome and you should find alot of informaton on it.

BTW, do not use the gaskets that come with the manifold, just buy a new stock gasket or reuse the original if you have too.

Nice to hear! Would it be possible to add a bracket to the O2 housing? The downpipe I am using has a flex section, therefore do I still need thespring bolts that are used on the stock exhaust?

I will probably reuse the stock gaskets, as I am sure they will be just fine. Since you have this same manifold do you see any poor welding or large bits that could potentially break off? Where did you get it coated? Post your pictures. What did it cost? How good was the power increase?

Thanks!

I'm tired of posting on this so here is the real short version. I have had it for a while. I'm using it with the OE O2 housing for the support bracket. I've driven it in the pouring 38 degree rain glowing orange (watermarks where the rain boiled off). I've not been able to crack it yet, months later... It is cheap (money wise only), and fitment sometimes is not exact, but if it only lasts a year, it was worth the money.

Here is a my thread with pics in post #12:

Ummm....you may want to rethink you plan on trying to get "a few years out of it" The maifold will crack, there is nothing you can do about it. Where pray-tell do you plan on adding these support brackets? how much experience welding do you have? Can you TIG? I am not saying do not use this manifold, by all means use it for as long as you can. I would however suggest NOT taking a dremel or grinder to the inside of the manifold, you'll only weaken the material. Oh and BTW Jet Hot coating does nothing to enhance material strength it is merely an insulator. Either way the flanges alone on those things probably cost 200. so good luck and enjoy!

I made my own UICP pipe and exhaust components in the past. I am not worried in my ability to weld.

According to ZEUS the header does not need to be dremeled.

You do not need to do anything to the manifold except have it coated. You could add a bracket onto the O2 housing, but welding a thick bracket onto thin gauge piping can be a little tricky. I don't think there is much benefit in replacing the O2 housing. It has more volume inside it, but the inlet and outlet are the same as the stock one. I ported the stock O2 outlet as large as I could get it and still have the donut gasket in place.

I wouldn't say it is a certainty that it will crack. But more than likely it will crack sometime.

Man, some of the haters need to shut off.

I just use the header and not the O2 housing. I had a little bit of install drama, but that's it. It made good power, and I have 5000 crack-free miles out of it so far. I'm not gentle with rpm or boost, and didn't coat this mani or anything; we just threw it on and started having fun.

So the O2 housing won't help anything? That sucks!
