There is my similar thread ......I got the same thing for $175 and I am sending it to performance coating to have it ceramic coated "Black Ice". You can look at my thread and many others and see that everyone has a horrible opinion but no one that is actually running this exact mainifold on an EVO VIII has had anything to ***** about. So with that said knock yourself out because even if you only get a year or so out of it then it was worth a shot and if you get more then you will be more than happy you took the chance. Oh and if for some reason it did ruin your turbo ect, ect, ect .......Just gives you an excuse to go for a bigger turbo.....Life is about chances so live a litte and enjoy your purchase. I wish you , me and all with the SSAutoEbay manifold many many uncracked miles!

Just on a side note ..... This looks to be the same manifold that Evo8.com was pushing but for some reason no one has anything but good things to say about them. These things probably came from the same original vendor but since Evo8.com is more expensive I guess theirs are bulletproof.........Kinda like all the people that hate on meagen (sp) racing becasue their products are cheap on ebay but I am yet to see anyone complain about their parts either. Just my .02!

Spoken like a guy that cares initially more about his wallet then his car. I find it very curious that ppl go through all lengths trying to save a couple hundred bucks w/ the prospect of 'maybe' the manifold will crack on you and if not, great. I mean, if you were auto-x'ing, would you go w/ h-rated tires hoping 'maybe' it'll last a few laps before it lets loose? What kind of thinking is that? You guys buy cheap things, get them in, and go through all lengths to have it coated and what-not to ease your mind...dremeling the inside? I've never heard such nonsense in my life. I am a live and let live kind of guy but this type of thinking is why walmart is the giant that it is, killing all the mom and pop stores, IT is being outsourced, China is raking in cash and spewing out products that are pretty much worth what they are paid for... Life is about chances? Hey, spend the money, buy quality...take that chance...isn't that why you bought a 30k sport compact in the first place?

I didn't buy a $30k car, the first owner might have, but I got mine for more of and SRT-4 price which is right in line for my thinking on this manifold. Why not try it because like I said before there are not ANY EVO owners that have had a problem with this product coated or not. Once I see a disaster like the pic above happen to an EVO then the manifold will come off that same day. Untill some one proves a serious problem with this exact product then I have no problem with it. If this same exact manifold said HKS on it and cost $800 then you guys would be drooling over it! Some times it pays to take chances, if I hadn't taken a chance on my Evo being used (which turned out to be a great choice) then I would probably be driving something FWD and slow. Once again my .02 you all are entitled to yours also so don't buy this manifold and if it blow up on all of us then say I told you so.......Untill then you will hear no more from me on the subject! No, I don't think so..Some tubular manifolds are better then others. I find spending $1200 on a street header/GTxxseries turbo manifold a little much unless you have a race prepped vehicle. But if I had to choose, a nice cast manifold would be my ticket. I'd put the HKS product right there w/ SSAutochrome, maybe a tad better... IMO, a nice cast manifold blows away the tubular in almost every respect except top end, but there are no really trade-offs. The fastest AWD street DSM runs a cast, most of the top street class Honda's run cast, etc etc..

I find these tubular/equal length manifolds to be trendy brain-wash on a street vehicle. Spool suffers on a tubular, heat is increased, longevity is decreased, price is increased (except the ebay manifold). A nicely designed cast will not break the bank, will last for many many years, flows well and retains heat in the exhaust pulses which aid in increasing hp...

I am tired of posting about this topic. Roomers roomers and roomers. Many have this manifold including me and we have no cracks. Leave the guy alone.

Well, I've been debating putting something out there. I mean, I'm not some Joe Schmoe selling products to make a profit unlike some of the companies that you all support. I'm a CAD/Structural engineer, CFD analytical engineering (computational flow dynamics), metallurgical specialist so I have somewhat of a background in doing things the correct way, not to say there aren't nice products out there. I've been wanting to put together a very high quality kit w/ very few compromises through a colleagues business. This is not entirely profit based (but there has to be a margin as all business entities must have to exist), but to have something out there that'll not only look beautiful but perform and function flawlessly. I'd like to take pride in what I do which is somewhat lacking in a lot of what I see. No, I don't envy the ebay manifold lol.. As a car enthusiast and someone that works w/ these kinds of things for a living, it just gets me sick to my stomach the crap that is out there, that's all...I guess if you build it, they will come...I just want THEM to stay Not entirely sure if I'll go through w/ it (huge expense), I was just tossing something out when someone was questioning me...

So who cares ............ do you want a cookie or something ! There is no point in a comment like that cause it adds no value or insight into the product.

Sorry I had to come back for this one.......Like I said in the other thread you posted in about that......This manifold in the thread has a lifetime warranty too! The question is who will have to use it first.
