peaking at 21psi and leaking to 1.2bars (17psi)

Im not sure if this is a Electronic Issue or a Leaking Issue... but....

Hey guys.... i got the Hallman MBC installed in my car during the summer, and well i've been leaking boost ever since. The MBC is cranked all the way to the peak... and in 1st gear it goes to about 1.5bars (21 psi) and and steadily goes down to 1.2 bars (17psi), and every gear after that goes to about 1.4bars and DROPS to 1.2. Now i'm losing alot of power bc of this. I thought a MBC would solve the problem of the 5,000rpm boost drop, but i guess not. Im thinking its leaking through the Intercooler piping rubber hoses, but im not sure. Any ideas why my MBC is cranked to the max and only runnin 21psi and leaking to 17psi? Im saving money up for a POWER FC, but im not sure if its a Electronic issue or a Leaking issue. I got the RMR intercooler piping sitting in my trunk waiting to get installed, hopefully that works... but other than that... im slow.

Check your intercooler pipes and buy a better diverter valve.

You know... I have the exact same problem. The only difference is I'm using the Perrin MBC. I would go over all of your intercooler connections again and have it pressure tested. I'm still trying to diagnose my boost leak... only mine's actually audible and it happens in every gear... everytime I get on throttle.

Greddy Type S has been known to have problems over 18 psi.

Boost leaks are very hard to troubleshoot. I would start by looking at the BOV. Add the second spring back in there and see if you will hold boost. If the same problem still exists then you should start going over all of your IC piping. Start up by the throttle body and go over all of your clamps under your hood. Also, check the ones coming off of the turbo. If that doesn't work then you will have check the ones going into your IC. I would say at this time go ahead and install your IC piping kit since you have evrything tore down. Don't forget to check the clamps and the piping going to your BOV.

Pop the hood while the car is idling and listen for air leaks. I had a vacuum hose leak from my boost gauge and was losing boost pressure. And get rid of the MBC and get a Profec B...just my opinion...

The mr bov cost me 120 + shipping. I got it at http://www.kingofimports.com. The bov sounds just like the stock plastic one. Where are you in OC. We can meet up and you can just hear it for yourself.
