Buschur Racing dyno thread.....new developments.
An 03 ringer? Interesting theory.
In any case, this thread is exactly what I need to know about parts. Actual data consisting of facts and numbers. The more I read about Buschur Racing the more impressed I am. I wonder if any of the JDM manufacturers put up their numbers so candidly. Truth be told I'd rather buy parts with test data available to the general public than some mystical overseas magic part. The only thing to make this better would be a tuner face-off. Get the east coast guys vs. the west coast guys vs. the red states on the same dyno hardware on the same day on the same gas. Break down the results by price, whatever you can get on the car for under $1000, $2000, $5000, etc..
Cheers David, fight the good fight and you'll have customers coming back again and again.

I think o5s make more power stock then 03s on the dynos because of the 10.8housing.
Thanks for all this information! The cars are certainly different. Sometimes tuners/shops get a bad rep when the real problem is that the customer got a weaksauce car. Interesting stuff, please keep it up!
From what I know - David's RS is an '04 and the variation could be easily explained with normal car to car variance
At Pruven the weakest stock evo was 208 and the strongest 267
Its a lot more interesting for me to see where the car winds up than where it started !
This will be a great journey to follow

I am still convinced - BTW - that the guy with the 267 whp - which wound up making over 280 with his Dyno Flash must have beeb running race gas - although at the time he adamently denied having anything in the pump but 94 octane
What is very interesting for me is that 95% of the post tuned stock evos make within 10 whp of each other - usually between 255 - 260 on bone stock evos with the flash. Obviously proper tuning and adjustment to match the individual car is some what of a leveling influence on the power outputs.

Also - to a lessor degree - we have found on some of the so called "ringer" evos that the wastegate actuator arm is usually adusted a bit tighter and the cars are able to make stronger boost
Timing, a/f and boost are the building blocks which set the power levels. These are the variables which change and which are the root of the whp variance.
Great test Dave. Thanks for taking the time to perform such a test. I'm not sure if you did a similar test with the 03. If you did, it would be interesting to compare the total HP gained (with airfilter, dp, axel back, boost controller, etc.) between both cars.
