I think he's refering to the selling of your dyno.

I too would think you would want at least an AWD dyno for diagnostic purposes at the very least.. What is your reasoning behind not needing a dyno? (if you dont mind me asking)

Exactly, sorry bout that. Why get rid of your dyno, and not get an AWD?

I don't want to ruin this thread with a lengthy reasons about the dyno.

Bottom line is it is a very poor investment if you think you are going to re-coupe your money from renting it out. Has been horrible for us.

Your right David, sorry about the thread hijack. I can see your point about the investment issue with a dyno, but again I would think you'd still need one and chalk it up as a "cost of doing business" expense at least...

Thanks for the parts information you've been doing in this thread, it really gives me some food for thought for my soon to be purchased Evo

Hey David,
Any chance of running your hi-flo cat as well. would like to know if it's worth swapping out to my test pipe for the track. also nice to know what it gains over the stock cat.

thanks,
sean

David:
Thanks for sending the springs and retainrs last week - love the quick service!
This is a very informative thread and I only wish that more people would follow Dave's example.

As a side note on your comment about dyno being a poor investment. I can see why you would say that it is a poor investment on a pure "buy and rent out" basis, but I am sure it provides a great amount of intangible value (i.e. products testing) which in turn helps to grow your business.

Keep up the good work!

Filip

I'm getting lost here with all the cool data so I tried to make a summary chart for the exahust tests to figure out what is going on as my memory sucks I could not even get the numbers to add up though...

stock dp | stock cat | stock pipe | stock muffler | 252 whp WITH Boost, filter, etc.
stock dp | stock cat | stock pipe | 2.5" muffler | +15 whp
2.5" dp | stock cat | stock pipe | 2.5" muffler | +7 whp (269 whp from post 2)
2.5" dp | 2.5" pipe | stock pipe | 2.5" muffler | 296 whp
2.5" dp | stock cat | 3" pipe | 3" muffler | 293 whp
2.5" dp | 2.5" pipe | 3" pipe | 3" muffler | 313 whp
2.5" dp | none | none | none | 314 whp

All numbers above include other stage 0 mods.
