Built Motor needed ASAP
$8K worth of Mods???
If you arleady did the suspension & have $8K worth of mods, why would you ever go to a dealership & have them replace your motor.
Sure they might say it is still under warranty, but I wouldn't let a dealership rebuild my motor. If your going to do something do it right and get it built to what you want it to be. Get a stroker or forged internals and then it will be bullett proof.
There are alot of qualifed builders in this forum that can help you, plus Mitsubishi is paying for part of it - What more could you ask for.....

I agree with Big Boost...
Is it worth the risk of having the dealership rebuild the motor? If you don't want to lemon the car then if I were you I'd take the money
is offering towards a shortblock and apply it towards a professional build.
I'm sure you've researched this, but a new 88mm or 100mm crank, top of the line forged billet rods and top of the line forged pistons will cost about $2000. Complete reconditioning of your block and prepping of internals shouldn't cost much more than $500-$600. Clearancing and assembly of the bottom end should run around $250-$300. How much credit is
giving you towards a new shortblock? Get it in writing.
