Built Motor needed ASAP
Ok,
So Mitsubishi has a global shortage of motors right now on the EVO. Mine through a rod bearing (through no fault of mine- completely stock), but I can't get a new motor until March. Mitsubishi has ageed to "help" pay for a short block, if I can find one on an exchange basis. Buschur is out, anybody else know of one ready to be delivered?

I got my car back on the road in two weeks, zero piston slap.
Ask for David,
1-440-839-1900. They have shortblocks and all the parts sitting around. He's built more 4G63s than anyone. And I would be willing to be his pricing is better too.

If you can't find one, is yours salvageable for a rebuild? As in find someone quasi local just to rebuild it for you... Hell, then you could pick up the parts for $2000 to build you a stroker.
Did it "throw a rod" or "spin a bearing"? I'm trying to get an idea of the potential damage. To Zeus' point, your existing block could probably be rebuilt to better standards than a factory crate short block. You might just need to find a new or used crank. I've seen a few of those around.
Also, what the heck does "help pay" for a new block mean. Is the motor still under warranty?
When did you buy the car? Wouldn't having to wait three months qualify you for a lemon law buy back? If so, screw the new block. Buy a new car!

Evo Motors
I'm in northern Ca. Here are my options:
1) Mitsubishi would pay for the cost of their short block, I would make up the difference between that and whatever I choose. Warantee would then be void on the motor only per mitsubishi.
2)I could lemon law the car, but I've got 8k+ worth of mods sitting in a spare bedroom (never installed). In addition I would need to remove the suspension I just had done. All in all, it would suck to either transfer everything, or sell the stuff and start with a car where the company can at least make parts for their cars.
3) Have the local dealer rebuild the motor. Warantee would remain, but their is some concern as to how extensive this might need to be, and leadtimes on parts are long.
