Megan Vs Helix Turboback

alright i cant decide. cal from gruppe-s is by far the most knowledgeable vendor i've talked to and are extremely helpful. Megan Racing on the other hand is filled with retards that dont really know about theyre own product. the guys at NTEC swear by Megan Racing and i have used theyre products before and quality isnt an issue with megan nor with helix. the only real differences between them is one is more known (helix) and one is less expensive.... bottom line

HELIX TURBOBACK = 748 FROM GRUPPE-S

OR

MEGAN RACING TURBOBACK = 545 FROM THE GUYS AT NTEC AND MEGAN RACING

SO MY QUESTION IS WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

gruppe-s for sure helix is a good product and you got the gruppe-s support all the way.

Both . I have helix downpipe and test pipe, but went with the megan racing catback. I'm happy I did, has a nice deeper sound. And with just this exhaust , no tuning, I got 265whp and 266 lb/ft of torque. Personally I didn't like the way the megan racing dp looked. It doesnt look like you can use the stock spring loaded bolts for that downpipe, whereas the helix you can.
Both very good exhausts, quality is up there with the much more expensive exhausts.

yeah i am worried about megan racing because the salemen there are so shady. whereas with gruppe-s they are extremely upfront and wont gonna play games. i also am worried about the exhaust problems that megan has had in their first generation setup

Well i have a Helix 3" Turboback and have also installed the Megan Racing turboback. From my experience i would go with the Helix because it has a better fit to it. Also Cal from Gruppe-S is Awesome. I had a minor issue and he took care of me without hessitation. My friend on the other had with the Megan was missing bolts and gaskets and had NO support.

from time to time, i wonder why people spend so much money on their exhaust system, while my no name, no brand, home made exhaust performs and sounds similar to the brand exhausts.

with what its worth, i'll get vishnu signature exhaust or buschur exhaust. They both sounds good and dynoed with 15whp gain +.

so you think i should just go with the cheapest setup for exhaust as long as it reduces restriction?

I have Helix DP and catback along with RT HF cat.

Cal and Gruppe-S are top notch. You will hear that over and over. Helix is great quality. IMO, this is worth the price difference.

Perf should be very close, so probably not an issue.

The Helix is fairly loud, but it's deep. If you go WOT, it's pretty friggin loud, heh, BUT, it does come with a silencer. I haven't tried the silencer yet, but may do so for daily driving, but I'd rather not since that would kind of defeat the purpose of a free flow exhaust, right?

I went from stock Intermediate pipe and Bushur Axle-back to the Helix 3" catback and the there was a noticeable perf gain. Noise isn't that much louder at idle and low rpm cruising/part throttle, but as stated WOT is quite loud. I actually got a ticket last year for "Altered exhaust" (that I beat in court) with just the Bushur, so I was wary of getting the Helix but decided to go for it.

Good luck,

FB
