?CAI or no CAI?

I'm planning on getting a reflash soon and I'm going to do some mods along with it.
I will be getting a hallman mbc, walboro fuel pump, and I'm trying to decide on whether or not to get a cold air intake (definately APS) or a regular intake kit. I probably won't be using the ram air since that is where the main restriction is (air has to turn 90 degrees to get to the turbo) The argument seems to be that a cold air intake is pointless on a turbo car since the turbo is just going to heat up the air anyhow (thus the reason for an intercooler). So my question is, which would see more gains with tuning, a cold are intake or a regular intake?

If you're doing a reflash do a turbo-back before any intake, or else you won't see the improvements that you should see

Has anyone actually done a dyno before and after an intake upgrade?

I'm curious how much HP is gained with an intake...

I've been reading threads where people have idling problems etc.

I might just keep the stock box and try to improve airflow to it.

I would think an exhaust upgrade would yield much more gain.

The exhaust did gain a whole lot. I didnt dyno my car before I got the turbo back, but after. I got 265 whp and 266 lb/ft of torque so it added alot of power. I do believe it is possible for me to reach 300whp with a mbc, reflash and intake. I'm just not sure what intake to get yet.

Did you reach the above numbers ( 265/266 ) with just the exhaust setup?

OR

Did you have some sort of engine management upgrade?

I'm thinking of doing some spring/shock combo and an exhaust upgrade.

I reached 265/266 with turboback only. No tuning or engine management, or any other power upgrade, but exhaust. My car was dynoed on a dynojet dyno.

from what i've seen aftermarket intakes have only caused problems. get some cams and tuning if you want to hit your 300 mark. IMO

yea I've seen problems with aftermarket intakes, but they only had problems because they did no tuning. Intake is one of the major modifications that you can do to your car, so I don't see why it wouldnt work.
