Tilton clutch

i've reading the specs of those Tilton clutches and got me really interested. http://www.tiltonbrake.com/content.p...ist2&id=34&m=d
Anybody has any experience with one of those, and anybody knows if they're available for Evo's? seems that they're the best clutches (i like the 4 disk carbon/carbon in 4.5" diameter)

Those clutches are crazy money and aren't really practical for street use. I know a lot of race cars use them, but they have funds to rebuild drivetrains as well.

Just get a Cusco, Exedy, ATS, RPS, etc. dual-carbon if you need that much holding force. Otherwise an ACT or ClutchMasters upgrade will be a good replacement for stock.

The only car I know that uses a clutch as small (4.5") and with as many disks (4) is the Porsche Carrera GT. A little bit of overkill for an Evo... buena suerte.

use to have one long time ago, there mainly for track cars. Had to replace it about 3 times because the 6 puck (in the middle piece that connects to the tranny driveshaft) kept stripping ) For the amount of money that you pay i would go with something else. It left me with a bad experience, the clutch (at least at the moment that i had it) wasnt good for daily driving cars.

Well, not as overkill if you consider that this car has to have about 500 hp (130 mph in the 1/4 mile) and the driver abuses it a lot, so we need something that can hold it.

I had one in my drag Honda. Great clutch I was launching at 9k with Micky Thompson 24.5" slicks never had any problems I went through 6 other brand clutches. I dont know if they make one for the Evo yet. I am using HKS GD Max now.

If you're gonna do it right, mind as well just get Triple Carbon Disk.

That's probably the best clutch you could abuse, it's made to be abuse.

A lot of guys on this board have 500whp and don't need a Tilton triple- or quad-plate clutch. I stand by my overkill statement.

If you want to spend a ton of money for something unnecessary, you could just send me $2000 so I can buy my ATS twin-carbon. Thanks!

well, it seems that we're going for the Tilton 7.5", 4 disc carbon, seems that they haven't a direct replacement clutch for Evo's, i would like to know if somebody in this forum has one?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I would say Tilton, it is a push style clutch with hydraulic throw out bearing. They have a great track record, a lot of the pro import guys are using the Tilton clutch.
