There are lots of threads about this, happened to me on the stock piping at the throttle body. Loud noise = s%^t myself thinking the engine went, lifted the hood, relaxed, duct tape got me home.

amen to duct tape and a dirty sock w/ the toe ripped out....my lower coupler blew out and went bouncing down the road into the dark......a sock and duct tape is juuuust about the worst coupler ever, but it worked

(i knew having worn socks w/ a hole in the foot would come in handy some day...)
