BIG leak after install of clutch

Had my RRE Clutch installed about 2 months ago at a good shop here in Texas. They are known for clutch installs in EVOs. Anyway, I noticed right before Christmas that there is a lot of stainage and gooey stuff all over the exhaust pipe area right below the passanger axel(flex pipe area). When the car get hot I can smeel a sweet burning smell and when i touched the stuff on the flexpipe it was reall stick. Kinda looked like oil but it doesnt smell oil. Real sweet smell, sickining. Well now I am getting a poping noise every once in a whil but only when i slow down fast or make a right turn. Does anybody have any idea what this could be?

Remember that it all started after I had my clutch installed.

Thanks

Tranny fluid leaking from the Axles? Check your seals.

It could also leak at the TC to tranny connection.

well it could be tranny oil or regular motor oil mixing a bit with that undercarriage wax that is applied from the factory

hope it's not your battery leaking. that's poision.

find out the source. Just start taking intake, pipings and battery out to see your transmission from above to locate where the leak is coming from.

Before you do that, i would take it back and have them fix it.

Just remember, the leak could come from up top and slowly drip through the pipings and frames.

I am going back to the shop this weekend to check it out. Is there a place that I can check tranny fluid to see if it is that?

it's right where the down pipe is to the left. You may have to remove the bottom tray (pia) and look underneath.

You most likely knicked an axle seal. They are about 5 dollars from mitsu They are not that hard to install. I had that happen to my tranny after my clutch install.

After doing a clutch, common places to leak would be, Tcase fill plug not being tight, one of the two O-rings between the tranny and tcase being ripped or gone, there is one large *** one and one little injector sized one. The first time the shop did the shop evos tranny, it was their first one and they ripped one of the o-rings and caused a leak describing yours.
