Exhaust question
Exhaust question
Ok, A) yes, I know there's a search bar but there's enough nice people that I wont have to use it and I only need a few quick answers B) This may or may not be a really stupid question, but just answer it anyway!
Ok: I just got the full Injen exhaust system with dp (Downpipe, cat-back, and cat-delete) and will be getting it installed today...my question is...do I need to "break it in" or anything? And should I drive easy on it till I get a reflash, or will it be ok? I don't want my engine to blow up cuz it doesn't know what's going on with the new super increased flow

Anyway, you don't need to break in your exhaust, unless you had the catalyc converter's bearings removed. If this happened, you need will need to extrude hone all the internal plumbing on your intake and exhaust track. If you don't have access to an extrude hone facility, then you should sandblast them all. The easiest way to sandblast your intake manifold is to remove the air filter and filter box cover, rev the car to about 5000 RPMs, and then start pouring sand into the stock air box. All the sand will end up comming out the exhaust, so be sure you put a bucket back there to catch it, or just use your cat's litter box to trap the sand.
Happy motoring.
