HKS rs intake kit question

I want the HKS racing suction kit but do I need to worry about the MAF? Does it work with the stock one?

yes, but on the dyno I made no more hp than I did with the stock setup. so I say save your money and use it for other stuff.

Thumbs up

it does use the stock MAF but the most power will be gained by using it w/out the MAF & enclosing it in an airbox like the apexi or hks kansai. if i recall correctly HKS Kansai has gotten around 25-30whp w/ that setup.

the HKS kit also sounds wonderful. makes your stock turbo so loud people will think it's not stock!

just the HKS SPF filter i use fools people, but a certain shop owner thinks i'm losing 20whp for not using the APS CAI that he sells. i laugh at his silliness...

does your car need to be tuned when you install a intake? I was told it is needed.

I have heard that some people after installing the HKS RS would get a bogging feeling at times. But then it is advised you get a flash so it will take full use of the intake.

I have heard very good results when you get a flash and intake.

I thought only when you want real big hp like bigger turbos you dont need the maf. Otherwise the MAF is necessary to retain stock idle?
