Any bugs in the RS helical TC swap?
The development stage of the Quaife LSD is done. We're just waiting for quaife to do their first production run of 40 units. The ETA for the quaifes is around March. So we have 2 more months!
Also, make sure you have the right oil in your t-case. I would stick to the stock stuff to be safe. If you have the right fluid and have a good launch technique, there's no reason why you should be afraid of your t-case going out on you.

It's a swap offered by Shep Racing. They say it's a direct fit, and significantly increases front end traction --- compared to the substandard open type diff on the 03.
But, that's the reason I asked the question: Who has done it, and were there any issues?

I have a buddy who is on his 3rd transfer case. Granted he was dragging on the first one...but the second one only lasted 3 weeks and he did not go dragging while on it!! He has 300+whp, was going up a steep hill in 2nd gear, mashed on the gas to go WOT and boom the t-case makes a weird sound then a constant howling.

All you need to know is that hypoid gears; don’t share a common axis, run quiet (for the most part) and they are a strong design. Yet by design the gear teeth must slide across one another during their meshing and this is why you must us a GL-5 Hypoid type gear oil in the transfer case and rear end, you need that slippery oil here. Use the wrong oil and the transfer case will start howling and growling within a couple tanks of gas. Mitsubishi specifies the Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil in the transfer case and rear end of the EVOs. This oil is a single viscosity, 90 weight, and the part number is #377610. If you can’t find this oil you must find a gear oil that meets the GL-5 Hypoid specification. Again this oil must ONLY meet GL-5 preferably 90 weight. Do not use a gear oil that claims to be GL-3, 4 & 5. These one size fits all type oils are not recommended anymore than a one heat range fits all spark plug.

I had extremely good results with a 6 puck sprung hub RPS clutch on my 670rwhp Supra. Seemed to dampen hard shock/acceleration throughout the drivetrain very good. Put down 600rwhp daily, also road raced the car fairly often. Clutch never failed me.
Not sure on how it is with Mitsu and AWD.

On DSMs, the tranny and transfer case can be filled up with the same oil. But not on the EVO. I bet you the mechanics think EVOs are like DSMs and fill up both the tranny and transfer case with the same oil.

That's just around the corner!
