idle dip with safc and hks rs intake

some background:
didnt have any with the hks rs suction and stock bov.
added the mr dv had idle dips... (when coming to a quick stop)
went back to stock for a while (had to clear up some things with smog and registration), no dip.
changed to buschure upper i/c with 1g and hks rs suction and no safc. no idle issues.

always figured it was just the mr dv causing me trouble

recently installed the safc and went back to idle dips.
same as before, quick stops or if the ac (defrost, vent, ect) was on.

does anyone have similar issues?
im thinking now that its the intake since the 1g bov has given me no fuss.
im thinking about changing it out with the buschur pipe and filter.

any light on the subject would help.
interested in anyone with a similar set up:
hks rs suction, buschur upper i/c w/. 1g., catch can, safc.

Any intake will have funny idle and part throttle characteristics until you have the ECU flashed to accomodate them. This is not something you can do with an AFC because you have to adjust timing also.

yeah, kinda figured it was the intake.
i know al prides himself on being able to flash for the hks
i have a works p2 (done with the intake on) but guess that didnt solve my problem

ill probably look into a less problematic intake then.
this one seems to starve the car of air at idle. when the dip occurs ive seen as low as 11.8 afr (comapred to the stock 14.7)

Works P2 can incorporate the intake. Just ask them if they can help you out. Also, TurboTrix are the best company for flashing if you want to change to something else.
