Engine oil question.

how many quarts are you supposed to use? do i use set amount, or check my engine oil dip stick to see if on "good" area? recommandation would be appreciated.

Also any better oil than the Mobil1 to use? Royal Purple , Red line?

mobil1 only and 5 quarts. With engine at running temp, it should be on bottom line of stick and half to top of upper line when cold.

I don't have my service manual in front of me but I think its 4.5 QTs (be sure to double check). As to what oil to use, I use mobil 1 10W-30 but oils are like A**holes everybody's got one. Check out this thread there is some good oil info there

read in TPR

Read in the latest TPR that the engine takes 5.4 quarts of mobile1 synthetic
