Will Previous Evo Parts fit the EVo 8??
I'm guessing you would be able to utilized some engine upgrade from EVO IV (CN9A), EVO V, VI (CP9A), since they share the same engine. However, I would doubt you'll be able to use the suspension parts that designed for them since they have different chassis.
On the otherhand, I think it's highly possible to fit MOST aftermarket parts from the VII to the VIII EXCEPT the parts for the AWD system (ACD/AYC not present on VIII)

Like stated, I believe the EVO 7 will be the most likely to fit. But we all have to take into account what modifications were done to get the U.S. EVO to pass U.S. regulations.
Some things theoretically should fit but might not because of U.S. bumper requirements and engine bay requirements. But any mods at all should be minimal.
I have alot of EVO 4-5-6 parts available, and even though I know they will work for a 7 or 8. Slight modifications are needed to get them to fit right.

yeah, i was wondering about this too. will an intake fit? what about a fuel pump. id like to get these things in before a company has to make them. btw, will these simple parts void the warantee? i plan to do much more right away, but im wondering what i have to work with.

Claudius,
The UK VIII will not have the same drive train as the VII. The ACD and the AYC have been removed and the price is significantly less than the older car.
While it might even make a better road car because of this, it probably signals the end of the rally car for the road.
Watching the Monte last night and their were no Lancers in the top 15 and no factory team present.

They are considering using the shorter wheel base Colt instead, next year...

Under those circumstances, would reliability play any role, how will the turbo run under those conditions(will life of turbo lifespan diminish?)????
Sorry these are off-topic... but might as well throw em in while we are here.

Depending on where the fuel cut limit is on the Evo8, you may not even have to use an S-AFC if the fuelling turns out to be right after you have measured it with a wide band lambda sensor.
I know 2 or 3 people who got bore wash running 1.5 bars of boost, but 99% are fine. The turbo life will diminish, as will the engine life, from 200,000 miles to 150,000 miles or something. Nothing really relevant.

LOL, well that is a significant amount, but I'm talking about an new E7, not a E8..... Also, if i were to buy a Wide Band 02 sensor(motec most likley) do I have to keep it on the car, or can I just buy it use it when I want to tune the car, and then I can take it off and perhaps use it on my brothers car if he wants to tune his?
What are some other options other then a $1300+USD WB sensor?
