Those are great numbers for a stock 05 evo. I pulled 242whp and 246 wtq on my 03 with 91 oct on Rich's dyno a couple of months ago. I have a vishnu mail-in flash and cat back. I would be pretty happy with those numbers. It looks like your 03 may have been a Friday car.

Were you on 91oct or did you mix in some 100?

Those are indeed nice numbers!! Remember me...I was there waiting with my Silver Evo but didn't get to dyno it because of the wait. I do wish I had a chance to dyno it. Maybe we need to do a dyno day for EVO during March, when I come back from HK.

bottom line is i don't care about a dyno #. if i mod a car it beats exotics with ease, then i know i've done something right. he's had stock srt-4's (on several occasions) pull to the wheels what they are rated at the crank. not unusual. he had an 05 STI w/ just a 3" catback pull 250whp which he thought was unusual. there are tons of variables & this is probably why Al does road tuning.

Yea I have no doubts that the 1.37 could be correct. He is just mistaken by saying 37% loss because the 1.37 and 37% don't match. A multiple of 1.37 is actually a variable percentage depending on how much power you put out. In my case if I make 417 hp as the 1.37 multiple suggests, then I would have a 27% loss between 417 and 305. Maybe I should inform Rich he is saying it all wrong when he says 37%. I think he is just getting it confused in his head. Hell if I am even making 400hp I would be happy.

what's also funny is RC developments does this the same way but they calculate 24.2% instead of 37%. what was cool too is Rich took a stock new M3 & showed us that a k&n typhoon filter took away 10whp & 20ftlbs tq than the stock airbox & overlapped the graphs. the debate is a moot point as the dyno can only help us all gauge the mods we add to some degree. the end result is decided on the track.

fre if you went 116 in the 1/4 then you are making over 400 HP.

Oh no doubts Rich knows his crap. That is why I am having him do my next mods. He does admit his experience with evos is limited though. His experience with other vehicles carries over though. My trap speeds tend to vary depending on the gas I run though. I seem to get a max of around 113 on pump gas and 116 on 100 octane. My E.T.s are only .1 of a second apart though (12.5 vs. 12.4 ).

Any other '05 owners care to post dyno graphs? And to the author of the post, a graph would be nice too.

also Mitsu lied on the crank hp. with a 37% driveline loss, the '05's 237.3whp is 325.10 crank HP!!!

both cars were run on a Dyno Dynamics dyno with a driveline loss factor of 37%. stock 03's & 04's were pulling an average of 197whp on that same dyno at the same place.
so i am sorry...how did your 10.5 make a difference? Different evo's make different numbers...a dyno may not always read the same number. Put it this way on a dyno jet my evo made 250 whp...they generally make 235.

housedj my only question is why are you even using the numbers claimed by mitsu as your calculation of drive-train loss.... its common knowledge the claims are off. as many have said, do you hear the skyline ever quoted over 280hp by nissan? no but we all know nissan isnt so truthful. the fact of the fact is, hp claims and dynos are all affected by so many variables so its easy for ANYONE to bend the truth. so just stick with one dyno and just care about the percentage difference after mods/tunes because that the only reliable data you have.

Wrong. My 03 dyno'd 216hp bone stock on dyno comps dyno. Other 03's were also in that vicinity.....215-225whp stock. take 216/271 and you get approximately 20% driveline loss assuming the factory rating was correct. Richard likes to throw around that 37% number but I don't think it is quite right. Lets put this in perspective I recently dyno'd 344 awhp on my stock turbo on their dyno. If the 37% is in fact true my car makes 470 crank horsepower on the stock turbo! At anyrate 230+ hp is a very solid stock number on that dyno.
