i did almost the same ****. mine took about 2 months
bought a crashed evo, and it turned out the engine was cracked
changed out the subframe and entire passenger rail (collision shop)
but its intresting how you pulled out the engine from the bottom.
i pulled out mine from the top with the t-case and trans attached.

It's easy to work on, just intimidating. I've never taken a project this far before, so it's all new to me. Just gotta figure out the problems when they come up.
So the update is basically the car is ready to come home from the fabricator. I'm sending out the manifold, hot side, and radiator pipe to get jet coated. (I'm going to heat wrap the rest for now while I do some research on swaintech coatings.) Once it gets home, I'll grab the doors from the body shop and put those on. Finish up misc wiring and hookup oil/coolant/fuel lines. Maybe even fill the tranny/dif/motor with oils. Once I'm done, it has to go back to the body shop so the guy can finish the rest of the body work.

Nope, not my lift!
Yay! The car is home. When I was taking it off the trailor, the windshield cracked but oh well, could have been worse. Anyways, here's a few glamour picts...

The garage with the lift is the fabricators. And being that you are in IL, if you ever need fab work, let me know!
I tell yah, putting that rear bumper back on was a *****! What a pita!

some how i missed this thread, i'm totally intregued. interesting that you kept the stock wheels and brakes with all the work that you have done. not a knock at all cus I think the stock rims look hot on a dropped Evo, and the brakes appear to be brand new so why replace. I'm very interested on the fab work for the rear bumper and wing removal. What exactly have you done/going to do to the rear bumper and what have you done about the holes in the trunk lid? Abd whats the ETA on completion?
