Clutch problems, help!!!

Ive noticed recently that if i put the car into neutral while still coasting towards a stop sigh or light, it will drop to 500 prms or less until all my lights come on in the dash. Then it goes back up, doesnt stall just drops real low then back up. 2ndly, if im haulin *** in 4th gear then try to go quick to 5th, it grinds everytime. If im just cruising it wont but if im goin hard it will even with the clutch all the way to the floor. Or if im in 5th then go to neutral b/c i think im gonna have to slow down but dont, then go back into 5th it also does it. It also chatters real loud in 5th if im not pressin the gas, just coasting. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Do you have any mods? The fifth gear grind sounds like syncros.

Oh hell i forgot to mention, after 11500 miles my clutch went out. It was replaced with a ACT street disc a resurfaced flywheel. I broke it in properly and have put 2500 miles on it since then. Only other mods are MBC and greddy type s. Didnt notice the grinding until after break in period when i could get on it again. I had my dealership install it, so theres no warranty so if i take it to them what will they say?

People argue that its just a TSB which tells them how to fix the problem, not really a recall. But my arguement would be who cares, it still shouldnt be grinding. If the car is under 5yr/60K miles it should be coverd regardless. I mean who pays $30K for a car to have the dealership say oh we cant fix that, yeah right. I know lots of people have been denied warranty work, but I wouldnt let it slide.

PS...My car is going in for the 5th gear synchro very soon, maybe next week. I wont let them try to void my warranty. Im prepared to call the BBB, lawyers etc..I have no time to play around with them.

What bearing is the TSB? If i tell them exactly what the problem is most likely they will fix it under warranty, if i say i think this is wrong, theyll claim they have to charge for disassebleage and crap, right?

Hey man go to the dealership and be prepared to SCREAM!! a lot be nice at first but they are the one that installed ur clutch correct ?? dont give them the "i dont abuse my car at all sir " story couse they wont buy it if its true or not go there and argue with them untill they do it, If they wont go to another dealer it should be under warranty even with ur mods. If nothing succeeds get ur trany rebuild (not by the dealer of course) i think its like 1500 but all the gears would be replaced with upgraded parts and it would last a lot longer then the stock one..

I, too, suffer from failure of the 5th gear syncro. D#mn ellusive 5th gear syncro! I'm getting body work done now, but will be taking her in right when I get her back for the tranny work. My dealer is great, but I'm also prepared to fight back. It's bs that we spent $30+ for a car that they refuse to fix! Don't take that **** from them. They have to prove that your specific mod caused the failure of that specific part for them to even have an arguement!

I have the same problem with the 5th gear syncro. My clutch just started slipping at 9000 miles. I plan to take it to the dealer monday.

Just curious... could it be that your clutch pedal needs to be adjusted. ACTMan himself said that the clutch engagement needs to be high on the pedal for proper disengagement. The 500 RPM idle sounds like it's from your Greddy Type S.
