Air/Fuel questions-ATP Turbo kit...HELP!

The shop got my car finished and tuned today...

atp gt3071r turbo kit
264/264 cams
cam gears
720cc denso/greddy injectors
perrin fuel rail
fuel pressure regulator
255lph pump
head studs

and tuned with PsiFi Motorsports Piggyback ECU

Running 23lbs boost...and this is what the air/fuel ratio looks like:

11 1/2 to 1 -- Mid Range

10.7 to 1 -- Top end

Is this cutting too close? Is there anything else to do to even this out... they said something about the injectors?? i dunno..anybody with this kit..and fuel setup please post

He said it was very safe..but still has room for more power, but feels this is safe the way it is..and sick fast. Any thoughts?

PS: The atp downpipe and wastegate recirc tube rattles against the turbo and the frame..and is annoying..sux!

10.7:1 on the top end is very conservative, it should be plenty safe. Anything below 12:1 is fine.

The 4G63 can take some abuse. 11.9 or under on "good" 93 pump gas can be run, but 11.5-11.7 pretty easily. They do it all the time in the DSM world.

Right around 11.5 is good and should give you lots of power and still be on the safe side. Evo Ate, love the avatar!

Don't know dyno numbers...it was road tuned. I pick it up tomorrow...im just pissed when they said there is some major rattling with the atp downpipe hitting the frame and the recirc wastegate tube hitting the turbo...other than that, thay said runs perfect and hard!

They are running 23lbs boost but it tapers down to about 21-22 during full boost...normal?

I'd get those rattles fixed by whatever modifications you need to make. In addition to being annoying, it could be heard as knock by the knock sensor.

no rattles here... but have them do what every necessary to fix it and double check the install.

I taper a bit higher than that around 23~24... on race I taper at 26~27

btw which frame?? They only thing that it sits very close to the oil pan just like any other DP.. You will need spacers for the cross bars... some shaving of the AC bracket is required as I remember (5mm or so ). The WG pipe is easy to install but it needs muscles.

i will look into the rattles...

can I run more boost with my mods listed below and with the a/f numbers?? I always put 93-94 octane in. will it be safe? It was tuned with a wideband, but I have my own AEM wideband controller going in soon. Should I wait to turn up the boost?

Look man, I almost drive my car everyday but that does not mean anything. The story depends on the tuner. If you have a good tuner who knows what A/F EVOs like and what level then you are ok. Some tuners are just not experienced as others and in return they will not tune it to the limits because they don’t know how far it could go. This is life when I started programming I did not know how far I can go but now I know exactly what’s the next step. It's up to you but take your car to the dyno and make sure it's running right and see the numbers as your butt dyno does not mean $hit. Turbotrix and many other vendors are close to you so I see no reason not to pass by there and see what they think. I am not saying your tuner is bad as they might be the best but simply I never heard of them. Always use 94 as it will help. Good luck. BTW the EVO is not daily drive car anyways (my own opinion) daily driving cars are not spouse to require tires every 10K miles, clutch every 30K and brakes etc etc.

Tires every 10k is only if you keep using stockers. My current ones should be good for at least 35k. As far as the original post goes, keep it around 11.5:1 all the way too redline. Try not to go below 11:1. This is what I run on crappy 91 octane. I wouldn't recommend running more than about 23psi max on pump fuels. I would aim more towards 20psi though.

Yea, I deffinetly will stop by turbotrix for a dyno shot. The guys that did my kit are GREAT! The are just now getting into evo's but the are HUGE in the SRT-4 world...and the tuner, Mark, is fantastic.

But TurboTrix will be my next stop...kinda a second opinion

Thanks for the input...keep it coming
