I would do it. What can happen is that after long periods of high boost runs, the stock fuel pump can start to overheat and supply inconsistent fuel pressure. Shiv from Vishnu posted a thread about this a while back I believe. He noticed that after several runs on the dyno, some evos with the stock fuel pump would have a brief drop in fuel pressure. If I remember correctly some of these cars had only a cat back and Xede. I installed my Walbro when I upgraded my exhaust, just to be on the safe side. If I were you, I would definitely install one with the cams.

The stock EVO fuel pump is good for up to 400HP crank.
If the cams are your biggest modification, you don't need the pump. Even with our 269 Power Cams we don't recommend a fuel pump although we'd love to sell you one.
The downside to using a "High Pressure" larger fuel pump is that it often overpowers the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator at idle and part throttle cruise where you'll see fuel pressures significantly higher than factory specifications.
If you are running a piggyback, it may appear that a larger fuel pump is necessary to mask the problem of the fuel pump circuit seeing artificially low voltage due to the factory ECU not knowing it's in 'high load' and not bypassing the fuel pump resistor.

My only mods are HKS downpipe with HKS Hi Power cat back and i still have the stock cat.
