Problem with Greddy Type S?
Hey I just got me the greddy type s bov and installed it. The only thing is it sounds exactly the same as stock! Just as quiet and I barely hear it when i rev to like 3,000 rpm in 2nd or 3rd...I installed the greddy exactly how the stock one was put in... Is this wrong? Should i be setting it up a different way? I've already done the spring mod on the greddy and turned it about 3 times from touch... Anyone have any ideas on why the bov is so quiet?
my friend has intake however he also installed his today... We both dont have the type s sound we expected... His sounds like his stock plastic one with his intake... Its louder than mines since mine is stock, however his isnt any different than the stock bov. Any ideas? Maybe we're circulating it wrong? or not venting it right?
try to remove your filter inside your airbox, there are 4 clips which you remove, remove the filter, then put the cover back in. make sure you dont drop any screws, washers, etc, into the airbox, try revving it and youll hear the BOV, even on stock. thats what i did last night. but i would suggest not to drive around too much without the filter, just get an intake, itll sound better. i however removed the filter on my skyline for a couple days and still no problem...
When I put my type s on with the stock airbox I could hear the whisle from it but not very loud. Definetly noticable though. After I put my AEM intake on it got a lot louder. Now I hear the whoosh sound followed by the whisle. Also you can certainly tell its a greddy valve because of the distinctive sound that they make.
