Peak boost @24.8?

I just installed a blitz dual tt and boost gauge on my 05 gsr. My car has hf cat and cat back exaust and k&n cone filter. I've peaked at 1.70-1.75bar in third gear several times. It bleeds down to about 1.32bar by redline. Peak boost is 1.62bar in most gears. I've searched many threads and found most people peak at about 1.4 and bleed to 1.3. Any ideas what may be wrong? I heard these boost gauges may be a little inaccurate but i feel it should at least correlate with other peoples blitz duals...IDEAS?

Sounds like you could have a line leaking somewhere that goes to the wastegate or stock boost sylinoid causing your spike. Just a thought and somthing to check out.

I sometimes see 1.6 in my bone stock '05.

bump again...

didn't they change the wastegate plumbing to get a little more aggressive with the '05s thus the 5 hp increase? I haven't touched the boost solenoid lines or anything...will a leak in the boost gauge tap cause the spike, although i doubt it's that. i just find it hard to believe at 1.75 bar that's like 25 pounds of boost for a mostly stock car. It doesn't seem like a spike because it holds peak for a second. it all seems just strange.

i have the same boost gauge as you, and when i had just an exhaust, air filter, and a flash it would spike to 1.62

I had thought the 04 and 05 where 5hp more due the ECU tuning changes and the 10.5 hotside. I could be wrong though this was just from other posts that I had read.

1. Spiking is normal depending on how you do the test (what RPMs you start with, etc, weather, etc)

2. The Japanese gauges seem to be reading a little bit high.

The Blitz Dual TT's boost gauge is absolutely worthless. I got a Greddy Boost gauge, and it would read 1.5 while the Blitz would read 1.78. It's junk, and i wish i hadn't spent the extra money on it.

Also, i believe the gauge in the turbo timer doesn't read higher than 1.89, but i can't confirm or deny this.
