Question EGT probe length?

Recently purchased Defi BF EGT gauge and a while back, stock manifold with already welded EGT bung.
I tried fitting the probe to the manifold before installing it on my car (previous bad experiences ) and of course it doesn't work.
The fitting that comes with Defi gauge screws into the bung just fine but after inserting the probe in it, it stops before it enters the manifold runner (in other words the probe isn't in the runner).

It seems that the previous owner of the manifold had Autometer gauge and my question is are the probes Autometer uses longer than Defi or do they just have different fitting which allows the sensor to drop in deeper?

Thanks

Autometer's EGT sensor are HUGE. They are WAY larger than Defi

Damn, maybe if I can machine a custom fitting to drop the probe lower...
I would hate to ruin the manifold by cutting/re-welding, it has a nice tig-welded bung on it.
