264 intake/ 280 exhaust?

What would be the advantage/disadvantage of using a 264i/280e hks setup. Would the higher duration 280 decrease spool-up time? Are there disadvantages in running such an amount of difference between the intake/exhaust cam duration?

It would probably hurt spool. Your exhaust cam should be just big enough to release the combusted mixture then close. If it's open longer it will hurt.

I am about to try the 272/264 setup to test a theory. I'll post about it when I get a dyno.

Its a huge variance in duration, isn't it? I have twin 264s now, but am considering getting a 272 exhaust cam. A 280 on one side only seems like too much of a jump with a 264 on the other side.

That's kind of like running a stock intake cam and a 264 exhaust cam...hmmm...that could be interesting actually...
