Transfer case gone, replace clutch?
Well, dealer called today. It is the transfer case. It will be covered by dealership. I am glad that I found a good dealer but bummed that the t-case broke that easily. I didn't drive the car hard. Just back and forth to work. No track or dragstrip. Only 17k miles. Hopefully the new t-case will last longer.

I have a Vishnu stage zero, cat-back and xflash. The car looks stock except for the exhaust. Everything else is stock including the clutch. The dealer told me when I bought the car that I could get an exhaust and it would be ok. The dealer has been great about it. I think if you car is stock appearing and your TC goes they should replace it. They did ask me if I took the car to a track or dragstrip and I said, I have almost 18k on my original tires, I don't race my car. They laughed and said anyone with that many miles on the original tires didn't beat the car. I am also 38 and talk nicely and calmly with them.
Like I said in my other post, I didn't beat my car and the t-case just broke. It worries me now, because I wanted to go to a Vishnu Stage 1. As they say, you pay to play. Anyway, I also have only had stock fluids in the drivetrain. All replaced at 15k. I hope someone comes out with an stong aftermarke t-case that is affordable.

I think that it has something to do with you guys getting your t-case fluids replaced. Are you sure they put the right stuff in?
I just dont see how they are going out at such low power levels

IE Evo - good point. Maybe I should say that I don't do clutch drops and donuts all day. But I do drive the car hard at times just not in a stupid abusive way. I hope you are right about that stock clutch. I am hoping that it will hold up to a stage 1.
SilverEvo8owner - the receipt from the dealer listed the fluids they put in. It was the correct stuff. I decided it would be better to go with what the manufacturer recommends than what someone said on the internet. I have the same concern of the T-case breaking at 242whp and 246wtq (DD dyno). Not a lot of power and also with the stock clutch.

A lot of the reasons TC breaks is due to wrong fluids. This was mentioned to me by Jon from TRE. The pinions get worn out when the wrong fluid is in and it causes to start whinning and howling. Hope this helps. There are plenty of guys down here in FL running low 11's and have lots of power and have never had a problem.
always resurface your flywheel, unless you replace it. better safe then sorry.
no cel light for resurfaced flywheel, unless they go resurface it more than the maximum allowance.

You can remove the t-case without touching the tranny by splitting the tail of the t-case off, this gives you enough room to remove it without ever touching the engine mounts or the subframe. The stock flywheel can be resurfaced easily by any machine shop, its absolutely necessary when replacing a clutch otherwise clutch chatter and improper break-in may occur.

Instead, make sure that they are filling the transfer case with Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil, part # 3775610. It comes in a metal gallon size can.
It would be best to change it every 2500-5000 miles for extra insurance.
Jon@TRE
yeah u better make sure they put diaqueen lsd oil part# 377610 it's about 60 bucks for a 5 liter can, i called around here chicago area who carries that oil and believe it or not i only
