i do 21 psi for a while, but lowered it to 19.5.

I wish I could set it to 20 psi and peak just a bit at 4000 rpm to 22 psi... damn mbc...

That's like saying "why wear a seatbelt - I've heard of people drowning because they can't get their seatbelf off."

It's a safetly precaution that has been proven over 10 years of 4G63, MKIV, SR20DET, and B-Series building.

Now, I don't think it's that important to pull the head off *just* to install head studs... but if you're putting in cams, or valvetrain, you're foolish NOT to... IMHO

P.S. I have to imagine the amount of ARP failures over the past 10 years in under 1/2%. They're very respectable, and very consistant with their product.

23psi, no timing pulled here.

1. Drowning is not a fair comparison to justifying not wearing a seatbelt. Injuries or deaths caused by aftermarket seatbelts compared to properly functioning seatbelts would be closer.

2. That is part of my point. If I had the motor apart I would upgrade the hardware. Duh. Part of the problem with putting in ARP stuff is that most people do it improperly. I have even seen ARP rod bolts fail on a friend's car.

well buddy, looks at your mods. I meant more for a stock-ish evo. You should be doing good specially if you went with vishnu.

Just curious... why are Bushur Racing's stages 1-3 all set for 19psi, instead of 20, 21, or 22psi? Assuming that you all are right in saying on 93/94 octane, you can boost that high with no problems?

22 psi daily on 96 octane with a custom Dynoflash. Thing runs better than when it was stock.

right now im running 20.5 psi as per dynoflash instructions. i have basically br stage 4 with 272s and the 660s W/ fuel rail. my afr is around 11.5 and no higher. al says not to go higher than 20.5 but i think he may be conservative to reduce engine failures. with my mods can i go higher? i run only 93 octane.

p.s. i love the dyno flash, but on certain nights i wouldnt mind raising boost.

Sorry, I am not sure if the original question was refering to stock fuel system or not so I will ask. What is the highest boost the stock fuel system can keep up with? I used to have a heavily modded 1g talon but havent started modding the Evo yet so I am not sure of the limits of the car. Thanks
