How safe is it to boost 22psi?

 

I boost 22psi daily on the stock turbo....Peaks at 23psi in 5th.

Same here, I thought my factory boost gauge was off! I hit 22 Psi in all gears but first.

 

21.5 on 93 and 25.5 on VP C16. I wouldn't push more than 22 on pump. It's getting out of the efficiency range and really heating up the air. I also run one step colder plugs.

If you're going to boost any higher, you should consider head studs.

 

why? I don't run any. I have heard of ARPs having bad installs or failing more than stockers having problems. I realize it's a cheap mod, but the install of my stockers was certainly not done wrong....

 

I run 25 psi on the stock turbo. 94 octane + Buschur alcohol injection kit.

 

23.5psi peak to 18~19 taper on 93oct. I have head studs also.

 

22psi here daily on 93 octane

 

you can run more psi with an alky kit

 

on 93oct, anything beyond 20 would make the sensor to knock therefore pulling timing. Mine peaks at 21 and tapers to 19.5 around 7k. Also to boost more on the safe side i would consider getting bigger injectors and a better fuel rail, at least.
