I'm sure everyone has heard everything they need to know about intakes.

question
Has anyone thought about putting some ducting from the lower bumper to the short ram intake. Would that get colder ait without acctually having a cold air intake like the aem or ingen

i know weapon r has a ram air kit you can add to almost any intake, and yeah, i think that would lower the inflow temperature.

If you can't fit a cold air feed to your open intake filter then you would be better off keeping the standard airbox and fitting a freer flowing filter within this.
On my Evo6 I've fitted a large 3" piece of ducting to feed cold air from a duct on the front bumper up into the engine bay and it finishes right at the inlet of my intake filter.
See picture below with the ducting feeding into the standard airbox

i thought of using AC ducting* of 3" with the built in metal wire coil(to keep it from collapsing) with a reflective outer coating to keep it as cool as possible .
i also figured since the ac ducting was somewhat flexible and not directly connected to the intake therefore NO siphoning effect, keeping it safe from deep water puddles
*the type they use on building air conditioners, comes in a variety of diamters

Any insights on this? http://*******************/airbox.html

has anyone thought about buying an an air compresser normally used to fill tires and mounting it in the engine bay, with a hose going into the intake tube, and a button in the cockpit to turn it on?!!!!?/!?!?!>?! you can run the power plug into the cockpit and use a power inverter to plug it in!!
</sarcasm>
...but would it actually do anything? just wondering..
