short explanantion:

all the #g turbos are made my Mitsu.

all the #r turbos are Garrett.

T67 is based off the Mitsu 25G design made for Greddy.

evo's use the Big 16g. SRT-4's use the small 16g. 20G's are mostly used by the turbo DSM groups (they're stock turbos are 14b for 1st gen, & garrett t-25 for 2nd gen). all these spool decent & are midrange power only. T67 is on the large side for mitsu turbos & has massive topend but a late spool (around 5k-5500rpm)

garrett turbos are most widely used by turbo companies & have a large range of turbos. the GT series is most popular due to the ball bearing designs as they are more reliable & last longer. for comparison, a GT2835 is similar to the evo 16G but flows a little more air. a GT30/35 is like a 20G & big 20G, & the GT40 is like a 25G but hasn't been configured to our cars yet...

the biggest turbo you can bolt up to an evo WITH NO MODIFICATIONS is the Greddy T67. however, see my post today "new turbo kit coming soon" regarding AGP Turbo using a turbonetics T66. do your homework & decide how much power you want & THEN ask turbo ?'s next time.

this is incorrect. a stroker kit (2.4) doesn't rev high enuff to make a large turbo run at max efficiency. i'd say 2.2l at the most. if you keep the stock 2.0 & build it up (cams, & all internals), you will have 3500-4000rpm of useable power since the motor will now rev to 9K SAFELY + when that turbo hits at about 5k-5500 rpm.

I think he meant the larger engine will push more air sooner, so you dont have to wait until 5-5500k rpms to get spool as on the 2.0, at least thats what I took from it
