Hey Dave.

Are you going to be playing around with the new Evo9 RS/GT turbo when they come out?

Be interesting to see what the new changes mitsubishi did to that turbo can give.

we already have a new MAG turbo !! i will post the new developments as we get results . options will be open to all evo owners as a upgrade path . we already have the GT garrett ball bearing core upgrade along with a large 3" or the WRC 4" covers . also will be a reworked 10.5t housing along with the option of external gate turbine housing .

Dave, can I ask you something?

How do you think one of your turbo's would perform on a 2.3L.

As i'm running a stroker on my evo4 with the standard turbo and have been wondering what a suitable turbo would be for my use.

I'm looking at hillclimb and sprinting type of use, and at the moment I quite like the quick spool up and respone I have now with my evo4 turbo.

Any thoughts?

Cheers.

Not to bring rain, but at what cost to US customers? The last time I checked, your full turbo upgrade would cost us almost as much as a full on GT30R turbo kit here... very cost prohibitive. Trust me, I'd love to have the power in an upgrade that you claim, but couldn't justify it for the price.

hi there zeus

your very correct about the prices ! cost is £1750 +250 for 4" wrc inlet . as for the gt30 route !! thats what you get a gt30 turbo kit . are cars don't run any lag and have the fastest response times of any evo package anywhere . we take great pride in providing a unique product alone with a great range of other bespoke evo products . if its ultimate response and a torque monster you want then the EVO400 Ti turbo is the only product to deliver that . 400hp |+ and 500ftlb on road fuels is some product !! we have tested theses turbos on road @ pressures upto 2.8 bar transient .

Sounds interesting. Could we take a peak at a compressor map?

Like I said, you might want to look at that exchange rate first!

the exchange rate would be killer... us dollars aren't worth as much as they used to and arne't worth very much now that bush is back in office.

aside from that...

i'd like to know if the boost holds also... i know the idea behind surge porting and it should enable compressor wheels to not take the beating when the air flows faster than the wheel can turn. but how much boost can you sustain without drop?

and how do you make the turbo externally gated.

for that price i would honestly want to get a 3071r...

It is a shame The People got who they wanted in office isn't it? However that is a conversation better suited in PM's.

I think we would all like to see evo400 post up some real results... including by what method/dyno (rolling road) they were achieved. So far we have not "seen" the results of his turbos yet.

Yeah, it's about 1.9 dollars for every British Pound. That's about 3,300 and some change for the EVO400 turbo (given current exchange rates).

Good turbo, bad dollar valuation.

i think it's more like good turbo, expensive no matter how you cut it. i just wish rallying seriously were more important in the states... then we might have places like tato makin' real cf goodies and have more wrc spec compressor housings... why do they have all the good stuff in europe :[
