Forge Valve help...

Ok, so I've done plenty of searching on this subject, but I'm still coming up confused...

I put on a forge diverter valve with the blue spring (spring it was installed with and 1 stage from the stiffest). Im running 23lbs boost and got mad fluttering when blow off. Holds boost great. But sounds like it hard flutters when opens... So, I was told to put on the red spring (hardest) for the boost im running....well..same thing..holds boost rock hard, but loud fluttering on blow off...whats the correct answer? I'm not getting surge...by the way..can someone explain exactly what surge sounds/feels like? And on low boost shifting (between 2-5lbs) it sounds like it hardly opens, but I do hear it open slightly. I have no stumbling or low idle...everything seems normal... what to do?

am i hurting anything? Whats the deal...someone with experience in these valves please maybe if Forge want to chime in

For recirc use, I use the yellow spring only for 23 psi. I assume the fluttering your getting is from lifting up at part throttle, right? If so then it is because the spring is too stiff.

That is what I was getting at. That means the spring is too stiff. Basically, what is happening is the spring is so stiff that the when the car moves to vacuum it can't compress the spring enough to open the valve. That is what causes the bucking effect when you come off boost.

since you've a upgraded turbo, the yellow spring is not going to work, do you run race gas map also? how many psi? low boost let off with the Forge RECIR valve, you will not feel or hear too much. You'll get a little flutter at full boost let off that's normal.

22-23psi is the same with a big turbo or a 16g. If he wants to run race gas and crank up the boost then he will need to go with the yellow w/ shim or the blue spring.
