What Mod(s) Next?

Hey guys I am wanting to spend no more than $1,100 on parts for my next round of mods and need your help. The deal is Al from dynoflash is making a trip supposedly this month to Colorado to do custom tunes and I want to add some stuff before he gets here. My current mods are a mail in flash, walbro, hallman mbc, & B&B tbe w/cat delete. I made really good power with these last weekend on the dyno 316 HP, 350 TQ on a AWD dynojet! But I am left wanting more . I was thinking 264's, hks intake, and aem true time cam gears. But I was also thinking about injectors and a fuel rail, because the guys at a local shop highly recommend it. Oh and these guys also said that 272's aren't nearly as good at our altitude (denver 5800 ft). Any and all advice on what you guys would do next is appreciated.

I would get 272's and save the gears for something else. Maybe alcohol injection

thanks for the advice. Anyone have any concrete knowledge about cams and high altitude? What about injectors and fuel rail, I was thinking ams 780's with their fuel rail.

You shouldn't need injectors, a fuel rail or a fuel pump until you clear 400whp. That is, unless your tuner (in this case Al) give you a crappy tune and you need to push in more fuel.

I'd go with a piggback or EMS myself, but looks like that would be backtracking in your case.

Therefore, go cams or alcy-injection. 272's are really for dragstrip and high-end only IMO. Do some searching on them.

So you guys really think bigger injectors on the stock turbo are pointless. It's so hard to to decided because everyone you talk to has a different opinion!! What I would like to do is 264's, no cam gears, and alky inection. But the problem with that setup is the alky injection scares the crap out of me (failure and blowing the engine up). Oh and it seems for the minimal gain right now that the intake isn't worth the money. But more than anything I would really like to know if 272's really aren't good at this altitude on the stock turbo?

You should probably upgrade your ride in the following order:

Exhaust & intake (of any kind)
Boost control (electronic in your case one that has atmospheric sensor would be nice)
Intercooler fmic
Cams with gears timed & addidtional fuel supply.

In my experience cams alone make ruffly 1/3 the hp without the gears and timed/tuned.
