What is the deal with evo clutches?...I have had and read about many reports of evos clutches blowing out wiht low milage and the other night mine did and i only have 2200 miles...why do they make a car so powerful with a crappy clutch that cant handle it????

 

It is meant to be the week link in the system so there is less chance of hurting anything else in the drive line.

 

From what I have read it is the flywheel that is causing a lot of clutch failures. The stock flywheel doesnt dissipate the heat fast enough for the clutch to cool down. Once the clutch gets overheated it will slip and ultimately fail.

 

i think they just used the same clutch from the lancer to the evo and obviously that doesnt work too well.

 

Maybe they used the same flywheel as well. That would suck.

 

why ask why - its just the way its been
so what aftermarket clutch you gonna get ?
