question about cams

just installed my hks 272's last night and everything went incredibly smooth. took it for a quick drive and it ran awesome, however, i drove it like i was breaking in the car becuase i wasnt sure if anything has to be broken in with cams. i am getting my car tuned in a week and i was wondering if it is safe to drive/open the car up without my tune. also are the torque specs on the bearing cap bolts actually 14-15 ft/lbs. that seems kinda low but thats what everyone said. thanks for any help.

They dont need a break in. Turbotrix installed my 272 cams and then threw the car right on the dyno for a few pulls. So dont worry you are fine!!

The cams have ground lobes that would mate with the lifters but since Mitsu uses the roller type this process isn't a factor. It is always good practice to feel things out just to make sure you haven't made any mistakes. Listen for noises, check for oil leaks and lose bolts after start up and after you run things a while.

if you didn't change the cam seals at the same time, keep an eye on those as well, or you'll have a very wet timing belt assembly
