measured mine today(04)with spark plugs out at operating temperature and throttle open. i got 180 with about four pumps and 190-192 with a few more pumps. car has 1400 miles on it and was abused since the first one! so much for break in theory!

mine came out to be 195 on all 4 cylinders....i checked it @ 3k and @ 18k..still the same...i didnt do break in on the car...redline it after like 300miles...and my car doesnt burn any oil @ all..even @3k oil change, it might be less than a 1/4 from a Quart...

I think that all those numbers will vary greatly with the state of tune of each car. A stock car will have lower numbers than a car with improved intake and exhaust. OTOH, Some cams and cam gear settings might lower the numbers again.

intake and exhaust no.. cams and gears a little.. okay all i noticed last night the car has alot more power..a big diff.. with running regular oil..ill run a test again in 2 weeks.. on the downside i noticed a lifter ticking, due the the thicker oil.. once i put syn. back in it should go away.. and i also added marvel mystery oil.. its an old v8 trick it works...too seat the rings in..

If the intake and exhaust are improved, the numbers would be higher. After all the engine is nothing but a pump and if flow is improved, the pressure is improved as well. Otherwise, why would you need to always do the test with wide open throttle? Try doing the compression test with the throttle opening at different points and you'll see a big difference between the results at each opening

Hmmm ..... Thanks for the empirical data. There is nothing so tragic as a beatiful theory murdered by a gang of brutal facts

190 / 191 / 190 / 195

frustrated, I did it again and got

190 / 191 / 190 / 195

My car felt slower than it should have when it was stock, I guess I got an oddball. I probably knock like crazy over there in #4 esp with the fact that the knock sensor is where the lower compression is at LOL

It's modded now and haulsass
