Beware: Clutch Masters clutch explodes!!!!!
This thread was an excellent read. Some very respectable names in the business dealing with a situation very professionally. Sometimes I wish the various tuners on this forum would act the same way.
Good luck getting your clutch issues resolved, and Zeus, hope your CM Stg3 works out. I ran a CM clutch in my Civic years back and it worked out great for 80k miles easily. And that was with a lot of "youthfull" abuse

I'm back... 1060 miles later in a rented Monte Carlo
I think I'll leave New Orleans and Bourbon st. to you youngsters... However, I found some damn fine food on Decatur St., and on Frenchman St.
Damn good food!
Back on topic... I really like the CM3. As stated, engagement is shorter than stock, but pedal effort is as light, or lighter than stock. I only have 200 miles on mine, so I can't comment personally about "my clutch".
BUT, Mitsuorder helped me install mine... he said in the box, that his looked the same aesthetically. Our two clutches were ordered less than a month apart from CM. After driving his, and more importantly, riding with him while he beat on the clutch a little, I have to say I'm going to be pretty happy with it over all. I can say this comfortably, esp after seeing how much friction surface is left on my OE clutch disc after 40k miles. I don't think anyone who got a lot of miles out of the OE clutch, will not have to worry about this unit lasting a good long time (PS CM rates this unit at about 480ft lbs).
I still think ACT might be better for those abusing their clutches though... I'll post up some pics in a few minutes and let you guys judge the build quality yourselves.

Wow, that disc looks alot tougher than the one I got. There new design looks like it will hold just fine. Here is some pics of the disc that came with mine. The one I got was there old design and to my knowledge they don't sell this one anymore. The new design looks really nice. You shouldn't have any problems with that disc.

I will have to take some pics of it, but it is still in good condition. All I would have to do is hit it up with some sandpaper really quick and it'll do just fine.

Update
I would like to let everyone know that their customer service is outstanding. Anytime I had questions or concerns about anything they were contacting me right away to give me answers. As far as the clutch goes, they are very willing to stand behind the quality of their product. They found that my clutch failed from a factory defect and will be shipping me a new one ASAP. I am sure this one will be of much better quality by looking at the pics from Zeus and will hold up great.
All in all, I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade. For the fact that they are really concerned with customer satisfaction and putting a good product out there.
Now I have to decide which clutch to put in, LOL. I already bought a slightly used ACT clutch off a friend, but I was really considering going with another Stg 3 before my disc went. Now I am really considering putting the Stg 3 in again.
P.S. I added an Edit to the first post.

Oh, I forgot to mention that CMs was also concerned about the condition of my tranny. I am sending it off to TRE for the rebuild and I will go with their recommendation on whether I get a new bell housing or not. Hopefully it is still good.
That's awesome man. I think if I were you I'd throw that CM in again and just resell that ACT. I loved how your car drove with that clutch. The clutch pedal felt light, and even though it was daily drivable it still engaged with some authority so you had some reassurance that it wasn't slipping anytime soon.

You are right. I loved the way the clutch performed and it performed flawless for 30,000 miles. It was just the last few 1,000 miles it really gave me problems. I would say the clutch held up great during that time and I am glad to see that CMs has changed the design to prevent anymore failures like I experienced. This just goes to show that they are really out there not to just sell clutches, but to put a good product out there and back it up with there great customer support and service.
It is a tough decision on which one I want to install. I really want to throw that CMs back in there, but I think I will give the ACT a shot and see how I like it. Although, I wouldn't hesitate to put another CMs stg 3 back in.
