Angry Best clutch for a 10 sec daily driver?

I've tried the HKS GD max twin disc setup.....worked fine...but every 6 months or so the springs and bolts that are between the spacer plate.....would snap!
when they snap the clutch discs get all messed up....so I bought the re-build kit.

happened twice again!

switched to the ACT 6 puck clutch with pressure plate.....but now the lock(the ring in the center) on the pressure plate keeps on breaking off... i think the clutch could handle the power ...but the pressure plate cant take it.

What else is there...basically for about 550hp....daily driver....
excepting that carbon clutch that sells for $2800US or whatever.
I used to love the HKS but i think that the design sucks...the exedy's and cusco twins are made up much better.

cant really afford the $2800 one right now....but I'm sure there's gotta be another option for right now.

thanks

if you want something that will hold more power and not get messed up, your gonna need to spend more money. Thats how car parts work...well most of the time anyways.

Actully, the Cusco twin disc is a great clutch for what you're looking for. Unlike the Exedy, it uses twin carbon plates. This helps it alot in drivability. It's a lot less grabby at first, but once it gets hot it grabs nice and hard (opposite of most clutch materials). Plus it's only about $1500. I've had mine for almost a year now and love it.

Sorry this is a bit off topic, but what are your mods to get those times. Also, are you full weight, running what tires, running race gas, nitrous, meth, etc.? Thanks

I just trying to get a feel of how much money its going to take to hit 10's in an evo.

If you can get your 60ft down to a 1.6~ you should hit a 10 with good weather.

umm...full weight..tires are normal bf goodrich with 18 adr rims.
engine is forged out..cp pistons, crower rods. along with hks 272's and hks gears.
simple SFP manifold with GT35R and 40mm tial wastegate. and yes i use a 50hp wet shot of nitrous. blitz boost controller and an apexi safc II.
I use C16 when racing.

thing is I have no management system so I'm afraid to push it to higher boost levels. Currently I run 23psi with the 50hp shot.

so I'm trying to get a good reliable clutch first before I go standalone.
and yeah the track is mess...but last time i raced when the clutch gave up i got a 1.72 60ft.....would have been a good run if not for the clutch slipping in 3rd n 4th.
