Traction Action !

Last year, I had a lot of trouble launching my Evo - having spun the heck out of my drag radials all the way through 1st and 2nd gear. And sometimes breaking the rear half shafts. I turned to the help of master AEM tuner Sean Ivey at www.iveytune.com to inquire of his suggestions. My plan was to set up my AEM with vehicle speed controlled boost and have the boost gradually build off the line so the tires would not break loose and go easy on the half shafts. Sean suggested I try and harness the power that I had not de-tune it by lowering the boost.

I set out to find some way to get the full 34 psi of boost power dowmn to the ground

Hence my traction action program over the winter which is taking shape

First I have the amazing Stage V half shafts from the Drivehsaft Shop which are rated to 1,000 whp (should hold me! HA )

Second I have added the Quaife front diff which should give me a huige advantage on the lanching power delivery. Resally a great product so its time to test it !

Frankly I am amazed with th amazing quality o te Quaife unit 0 worth waiting for for sure!

Love my new quaife !

Finally - to tie it all together these new bushings from AMS which go in th rear trailing arms are supposed to help reduce wheel hop.

Wow looks good, wish I could see your car run. Let us know if you ever get to Maryland International Raceway and I'll come check it out.

I saw the bushings on their wite a few weeks ago, but I took it as a gimmick since I hadn't heard of people having big issues with wheel hop.

Perhaps I should take another look...

When you get to a certain power threshold things get out of control. The wheel hop gets nuts. I dount this will stop it 100% but I am willing to try. I have a few other tricks going on but wont give away all my secrets.

I've seen some solid pillow bushing replacements posted somewhere on this forum-- how would you compare something like that with these poly bushings? Overkill? Test those too and report back?

If all goes well, I may be able to help you out. I'll drop you an IM once things fall into place.
