HELP! Boost creep

I did some research/searches now I am posting specifics.

I am having problems with my boost. I'm not really sure what the problem is?

Today I installed my samco upper I/C pipe conections. I moved my MBC to make the vacume lines shorter, and clean up the engine bay a little. After I finished I went for a test drive and tried to set my boost.

I made some third gear pulls and had it set solid at 21PSI mabey 1-2PSI taper around redline. So I decided to put it in 4th gear and see if it stayed the same. It just kept climbing 23-24PSI. I then turned it down and set it at 21psi in 4th. It seemed solid. When I put it back into 3rd gear it maxed at 15PSI. So it seems that it changes in every gear. BOOST CREEP

What should I do? Should I try the stiffer spring? change my boost source for the MBC? Is the BOV leaking? bad wastegate??

It was running perfect before I had an accident. Since then I had the boost turned way down untill I had every thing fixed.

This is what was fixed: New Buschur Deluxe FMIC with new Lower I/C pipe (because of this I had to change one of the vacume lines) the stock lower I/C pipe had a nipple that I believe was the line for my boost source. Now no more nipple so I had to tee off the vacume line at the front right corner of the valve cover (BOV) for my new boost source. I couldent really test it because my clutch started slipping real bad. I got the clutch fixed. Now I had a new problem, a bad boost leak where the Buschur lower I/C pipe meets the turbo. Now I fixed that and put in my samco upper I/C connecters and finally got around to setting the boost. Now I am having problems with BOOST CREEP. any Ideas?? thanks and let me know if you need some pictures of how I have the MBC set up.

its a givin factor that in fourth and fifth gear, you WILL overboost...it just happens...as for reasons why, im not sure...but i know you wont over boost that much...i know im only overboosting by about 2-3 PSI...but not anywhere near 6.....and as far as ur vaccuum lines go for the MBC, there should only be 2 places for the boost controller.....off the turbo, and off the wastegate....try setting it that way and see what happens...thats how mine is set up and i have no problems

With a MBC you should set it and leave it alone.

The "turbo" has no place for a vacume line period.

Everone calls it the "turbo" but the connection is really on the pipe that connects the turbo to the I/C.

The new pipe that Buschur supplies with the FMIC has no nipple.

I have read that because of no nipple you change it to the BOV line or the Fuel Pressure line.

I'd like to know how your stock valve is holding up to 23-24 psi, especially if it's plastic.
What is the car?
Did the wastegate get any damage in the accident?

The BOV seems to be holding up fine. Not sure on how to check it. The wastegate has a very small dent from a flat head screwdriver tip. Because when the body shop kid was intsalling the new Buschur lower I/C pipe the wastegate was tuching it not allowing the holes to line up. He tried to pry it over a tiny bit. There is no hole in it just a tiny dent.

Ok I just checked all the I/C connections/vacume lines and switched to the stiffer spring in the MBC. I'll post the results soon. and reset the ECU.

Well, On my second pull I blew off the Throttle body I/C hose. I brought the right tools with so it was a easy fix. 2nd gear 21PSI 3rd gear 21PSI 4th gear it starts to climb past 21, 22, 23, 24, I have to let up before redline because of too much boost. If I remember right when I had the stock intercooler the boost PSI would hit 21PSI fast and hold it there. Now the boost is slowley tring to get to 21PSI. So dose that mean that the BOV is leaking? Should I take the BOV off and try to clean it?

Some things that have helped: Modified and Re-Installed the plastic air scoop, the body shop never put it on because it did not fit with the Seibon TCII CF hood. Also tightened down all connections. The boost is more stable but still not perfect. I am thinkig about going back to the weaker spring in the MBC. and a mR BOV is on the way.
