HKS 30th Anniversary Hi-Power Review

Hey Guys,

Just installed my HKS 30th Anniversary Hi-Power and Kartboy hangers exhaust yesterday.

All in all, I am very impressed. Here is my quick review.

Performance:
The turbo spools significantly faster. The boost feels as though it hits much harder, especially when I downshift from 4th to 3rd and accelerate on the highway. I hear my ARC induction box start sucking in air around 2500 rpm. I definitely feel a noticable increase in power, at least from the butt-dyno .

Sound
The sound is incredible. Reminds me of the KLZE V6 Powered MX-6 I had in high school with a GReddy SP2 Cat-Back. Sound is very deep and definitely sounds like a well tuned four cylinder or small displacement six. Not too loud, very pleasing melodious note to my ears. I wonder if this is going to change alot when I add a 3" WORKS downpipe and WORKS high flow cat.

Fit
I need to criticize the fit because the location of the resonator should be closer to the cat. If it were, it wouldn't be near the floor pan and wouldn't come close to making any kind of vibratory noises against it. The hangers and muffler tip location are very well placed. There is only one bend in the piping, hence the angled exit out of the bumper.

I'll post pics asap.

Hope this helps

Thanks man. I'd rather take my time with it and spend a premium over a longer period of time than to rush the tuning process and get lesser results. Getting some more goodies into her within the next few weeks.

The GReddy TI is a fantastic exhaust as well. Great Choice, the HKS 30th and GReddy TI are my two favorites.

I'm getting that exhaust this week. Like you said, wait and do it right. Spend the extra cash and know it will fit right. Now all you need is some VII tails and that'd be one sweet looking rear end....

This sonds exactly like what I am looking for...
Good, but not to loud sound, faster spooling up, nice power gains.
