hks 264/272 on stock tune????
hks 264/272 on stock tune????
getting my car tuned in a few weeks and was wondering if i can run these cams with the stock ecu map without any major issues till then. thanks, nick.
I have the GSC 264/272 Cams installed, have been driving the car for a little bit, while waiting to get a tune, idle seems to be very close to stock. Car seems to drive with no problems, so far.
run's better than expected w/no tune, idle is a little rough, but doesn't stall... pulls real strong no funky noises or anything, just that hks cam tick that is common i guess..

do you have any reasons why not? cuz itll run 100% fine. but you wont see much of a real gain till you get a tune of some sort.
I just figured that having higher lifting cams would allow more air into the combustion chamber, and if you didn't have the right amount of fuel in there it might cause problems...that's the assumption I was making, anyway
I have Buddy Club 264/272 going in tomorrow. I only have SAFCII at this point, adding a little fuel in the middle and leaning very little on the top (-4%).
I "think" it will still be rich with the cams, but don't know for a fact. Looking to get a custom flash soon.

Take a look at Evo11v, he dropped in the cams (264/272) and made good power then got a custom tune and made a lot more. It was still rich after dropping in the cams (like ~10:1 in the upper rpm), and he even had a reflash for prior mods before, so a stock tune would be even richer... Still, every car is different of course, so it's obviously best to get a custom or at least mail-in asap.

Thoughts?
