Stock Evo 9 + tune = power gain????

if you tune a 100% stock evo 9, will it yield results?

or should you only tune if you have mods?

i would assume that you would get some power just by raising the bos a psi or 2, but you will get more with TBE

No, Apex, you get the MOST gains on a IX with a tune. It doesn't matter if you're stock or modded...tons of power to be gained from a tune.

A $199 mail-in flash will make more power than an $800 TBE.

Warr's right. A flash would do wonders compared to a TBE.

You will gain roughly 30whp from a tune, best bang for the buck mod you can do, there are a few people that do flashing, and you can do it yourself if you know what you are doing. But with your car being 100% stock I am pretty sure you don't have the logging equipment you would need to do it on your own. Get a mail in flash or a custom tune if there available where you are at.

I personally did this myself earlier in the year and yes, the results are very noticeable compared to a completely stock Evo. If you have no plans on further modifying the car, I would recommend doing this.

Hmm, interesting. I actually didn't know so much can be gained just from a simple flash. Nice! Though, I'm not stock.

I'm almost 100% certain that dynoflash(Al) will be in eTown for the STi EVO shootout there. If not, dynoflash is in stamford Ct, and Pruven is also not far from there. It says you're from yonkers, and they are both about an hour from yonkers with no traffic.

Yes it will. I went from 226hp/230tq stock on a Dyno Dynamics up to 270hp/280tq on a DD in 90+ degree weather on a BONE STOCK car. This was done by Shiv from Vishnu. Trust me, it will make a world of difference and every lightly modded VIII will hate you for it.

Edit...My dyno jet numbers were 305hp/304 tq in 90+ degree weather..just to give a little comparison

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Also check out TurboTrix in Edison, NJ. Mark did a great job on my car.

Yeah, you can get custom tuned by Dynoflash at his home shop in Stamford, CT, or you can drive up to Buschur Racing in Norwalk, OH, today to get custom tuned, since Dynoflash is there.

Al will be at the E-town shootout, but he likely won't have time to do any custom tuning during the race. You can get EvoScan yourself right now by purchasing and downloading it, but you will need the Tactrix cable in order to interface with your ECU and laptop. This cable is also used for EcuFlash.
